Seaside Cabin Larvik

Seaside Cabin Larvik

Situated on the rocky top of an island in the Larvik seaside this cabin does its best to blend in. Built on steel stilts it barely touches the ground. Low in profile and clad in Kebony which turns grey with time it mimics the profile of the nature it rests upon. A glass slit where roof meets wall gives the impression of a floating roof.

Along certain walls there is no glass split. This is to emphasize the folding of Kebony from wall to roof. The interior walls and ceilings are mainly clad in birch veneer letting the daylight dance on the surfaces.

With a brief to accommodate a family of 5 and potential guests as well as a strict size regulation, this building is quite compact and relies on an extensive use of the outdoors thus minimizing room for corridors.
